Subject: Mirroring Volumes in NetWare 386
Date: January 22, 1991
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
GENERAL
INFORMATION: Mirroring is done by partitions, NOT by volumes. You cannot
mirror a volume only (unless you have one volume per drive).
You CAN mirror a drive that contains only part of a volume,
without mirroring the part of that volume which may be
contained on a different physical drive or drives.
Example: 2 hard drives
Drive 1: SYS and VOL1
Drive 2: The "rest" of SYS
In this scenario you CAN mirror drive 1 to a third drive
without involving the physical drive that SYS has been
expanded to.
